Cream Cheese Cookies 2 1/2 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening 1 3oz. pkg. softened cream cheese 1 c. sugar 1 tbsp. milk 1 tbsp. grated lemon zest Preheat oven to 350. Use ungreased baking sheets. Stir together the flour and salt. Set aside. Use a large bowl to beat together the shortening and cream cheese. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Add the milk and zest. Slowly add the flour mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1 1/2" apart on baking sheets. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes, until light in color. Cook on the baking sheets, on wire racks. Makes 4 - 5 dozen.
