Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies 1 c. flour 6 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/4 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 large egg 1/4 c. milk 1/2 tsp. whiskey 3 c. uncooked oats Preheat oven to 350. Use ungreased baking sheets. Stir together the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Cream the shortening and sugar together in a large bowl. Beat in the egg and whiskey. Slowly blend in the flour mixture. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto baking sheets. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes, until lightly colored. Cool on wire racks. Makes 3 - 4 dozen.
