Jubliees Cookies
1/2 cup shortening 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 2 eggs 1 cup evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 3/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheets. Beat the shortening and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs, beating thoroughly. Add vanilla and milk and blend well. Use a separate bowl to mix together the flour, salt, baking soda and nuts. Pour the flour mixture into the shortening mixture, blending well. Chill for 1 1/2 hours. Using a teaspoon to drop the dough onto cookie sheet, about 2" apart and bake for about 11 - 12 minutes. Makes about 4 or 5 dozen.
