1 chocolate cake mix 14 oz package caramels, unwrapped 1/2 cup margarine 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350. Prepare cake as directed. Pour 2 cups batter into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels and butter with sweetened consensed milk. Stirring until smooth. Spread evenly over cake. Spread remaining batter over caramel mixture. Top with nuts. Return to oven., bake 30-35 minutes longer. Cool. Garnish as desired. It is really good with cool whip on top.
