1 pound ground beef 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon prepared mustard 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup fine breadcrumbs 1 egg
1/2 cup fine breadcrumbs
3 green peppers Shortening or oil for frying
Combine all ingredients except 1/2-cup fine breadcrumbs and green peppers. Shape 1/3 to 1/2-cup of meat mixture around metal or wood skewers. Roll "drumsticks" in 1/2-cup fine breadcrumbs. Melt 4 to 5-tablespoons shortening, or use cooking or salad oil, in a heavy 8 or 9-inch frying pan. Fry "drumsticks", turning to brown all over. Cover frying pan and cook about 15 minutes or until cooked through.
Serve with pan-fried green pepper rings: Cut peppers into thin crosswise slices. Remove seeds, fry in a little shortening or oil until lightly browned.
Makes about 4 to 6 drumsticks.
