1/3 cup soy sauce 1/3 cup maple syrup 1 clove garlic, minced 1 6-pound, fully cooked, bone-in ham 8 whole cloves
Directions: Combine soy sauce, maple syrup and garlic in a bowl. Place ham in a large dish and coat with mixture. Let the ham marinate in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours or REALLY sink in the flavor for up to one day.
Just before cooking the ham, randomly press the cloves into the top of the ham. Place ham in a roasting pan and pour marinade over it. Cook at 350 for 1 hour or until a meat thermometer reads 130 F to 140 F. Baste often. When ham is done, remove from oven and let it sit for 20 minutes.
To slice the ham, start from the small end and cut straight down to the bone. Then slice off meat diagonally down to and around the bone. Serve at room temperature.
