Sausage with Savoury Crumbed Noodles
1 lb. pork sausage links 6 oz flat noodles 1 cup bread crumbs 1 TBS paprika
Pan fry sausage until browned. Cook noodles and drain. Drain sausage. Save fat. ( you will need 5 TBS altogether) Brown breadcrumbs in 2 TBS sausage fat. Stir in noodles. Sprinkle with paprika. Top with browned sausages. Cover and cook very slowly or bake in a moderate oven (350*F) for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 minutes longer. Serve with hot sausage milk gravy. Brown 3 TBS flour in 3 TBS sausage fat. Stir and scrape with broad spatula. Slowly stir in 2 cups milk. Heat and stir about 10 minutes til thick and smooth. Taste and season. Serves 6.
