1 1/2 lbs. sweet Italian sausage 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 can (1 lb.) boiled onions, drained & cut into halves 1 jar (32 oz.) spaghetti sauce 1 lb. ziti, cooked & drained, divided 1 pkg. (1 lb.) mozzarella cheese, cut into thin slices Preheat oven to 350 F. In a lg. skillet, brown sausage on all sides & cook until well done. Drain off excess fat. Remove sausage from skillet & cut into 1/2" thick slices. Replace sausage in skillet & add mushrooms, onions & spaghetti sauce. Cover & simmer for 15 mins., stirring occasionally. Place half of the ziti in a greased 13x9x2" baking pan. Top w/all of the cheese. Spoon over half of the sauce. Cover w/remaining ziti & remaining sauce. Bake in preheated oven for 30 mins. or until piping hot. 8 servings.
