Sparkling Cranberry Punch To make it truly eye-catching, add a easy-to-make, decorative ice ring or festive looking ice cubes.
2 quarts cranberry juice thingytail, chilled 2 liters ginger ale, chilled 1 liter club soda, chilled 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (from about 4 limes) 2 tablespoons sugar fresh mint sprigs for garnish
Makes about 5 quarts
1. Pour all of the liquids into a punch bowl. Stir in the sugar until thoroughly dissolved. Add the ice (see instructions below) and mint. Serve immediately.
For Ice Cubes or Ice Ring
fresh or frozen cranberries or strawberry's lime wedges or slices fresh mint sprigs
2. To make party ice cubes, place a couple of cranberries and a small lime wedge, or a tiny mint sprig, in each section of an ice cube tray. Fill the tray with water; freeze.
3. For an ice ring, fill a ring mold with a thin layer of water. Drop in cranberries, or strwberrys, lime slices or wedges and mint sprigs, if you like; freeze. Then fill ring mold almost to the top with water and freeze. To serve, dip the pan briefly in hot water and unmold.
