I was at a party a LONG time ago and someone made a cheese and bacon dip with processed cheese, like Velveeta, in a slowcooker. There was fresh french bread to dip in it and it was sooooo delicious! Problem is, when I search for a recipe on the internet, the only ones I find have actual cheddar cheese in it. Does anyone have a similar processed cheese recipe to share? I would really appreciate it! Janna

I usually just go ahead and substitute the cheddar cheese with velveeta, gradually adding it to taste in the crockpot
if you love dipping the bread heres' another great recipe
Hot Bacon Cheese Dip n bread
1 loaf round Italian or French bread 12 slices bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled 1 c. mayo 1 pkg colby velveeta--add slowly and taste small onion chopped 1 minced clove
now you can put the above in a crockpot and dip with bread
or
cut the center of the TOP of the bread, like you would do when carving a pumpkin save the lid then carve out some of the interior of the bread save for dipping
mix all of the above ingredients and spoon into the shell if you are not using the above recipe for the crockpot, just mix as is, cubing the velveeta
spoon into shell cover with top lid
bake 350 for one hour
this can be served with the leftover bread or used for crackers, fritos etc.
its delicious
