You'll warm right up with this minty white chocolate drink.
Prep: 10 min Cook: 10 min
Mint Cream Topping (below) 6 cups milk 3 cups white baking chips 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract Candy canes or crushed hard peppermint candy, if desired
1. Make Mint Cream Topping.
2. Heat milk just to simmering over medium-low heat--do not boil. Reduce heat to low. Add chips; stir constantly with wire whisk until melted and smooth. Stir in peppermint exact.
3. Pour mixture into cups or mugs. Top with Mint Cream Topping. Garnish with candy cane for stirring, or sprinkle with crushed candies.
Mint Cream Topping
1 cup whipping (heavy) cream 2 tablespoons powdered sugar 1 tablespoon baking cocoa 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
Beat all ingredients in chilled small bowl with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
Makes 10 servings
Success Hint: Melt white baking chips carefully. They burn easily, so be sure to cook over low heat, and stir constantly.
Variation: Use 1/3 cup peppermint schnapps for the 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract in the hot chocolate to make a delicious adult drink.
