Chicken and Dumplings 1 whole chicken 1/2 onion, chopped 2 carrots, chopped 1 stalk celery, chopped salt and pepper to taste Directions: Rinse the chicken, put in a large pot and cover with hot water. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower heat, then cover and let simmer 2 to 3 hours. Now make the dumplings according to recipe on box. (see below) Remove bones from broth and return chicken to stew. 2 cups Bisquick (Original Baking Mix) 2/3 cup milk Stir together until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonful into boiling stew; reduce heat. Cook uncovered 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes. Makes 10 dumplings.
